The Winner is:
Recently we painted Nico’s bedroom. We actually bought some Low-VOC paint from Olympic. It was great. I highly recommend it since it really had not much odor at all. I didn’t get all light headed closed up in the bedroom and I could only smell the slighted odor after having left the room for a while then re-entered it. But anyway, after painting his walls, Larry and I realized the poor boy’s room looks like it belongs to the red-headed step-child! We don’t have one single decoration on his walls at all.
When I was pregnant with Matthew, Larry and I really decked out his room. We painted, laid hardwood flooring, made curtains and a valance that matched his bedding. I painted wooden letters and spelled out his name, then hung that and a few other pictures on his walls. We even found a color coordinating throw rug to match the rest of the room. Then along came autism and everything it entailed, like lots of therapists traipsing in and out of our house, and tons of trips to the doctors. So when I got pregnant with Nico, getting a room together for him just wasn’t as high on our list. Plus, we were moving from one house to another. I just didn’t want to buy more things to lug to the new house. But we have been in the new house almost 1.5 years now, I guess it is time Nico has a room that expresses some sort of personality.
That is where Paperfingers comes in. I found this great shop on line and immediately fell in love with their alphabet prints. Christina, of Paperfingers, sent me two beautiful alphabet prints to help dress up both boy’s rooms. N is for Nature and M is for Monsters. They are so graphic and bold, yet chic and refined. They truly express the fact that Christina has always loved the shape of letters and graphic design.
I told Christina that both boys had blue rooms and she ran with the color combo. I am a sucker for chocolate brown with pretty blues and greens so she really nailed it for me. Her prints (11”w x 8.5”h) look especially pretty when framed (14” x 11”) with a matte. And they are printed with archival inks on acid-free Green Seal Certified Neenah Paper. That means that the paper is made with a minimum of 30% post-consumer fiber and that the mill processes, including packaging, are environmentally preferable! Pretty cool, huh? I thought so too!
