I was cruising around the internet looking for a really nice candle to use in the house when I happened upon Hothouse Botanicals. There I found beautiful soy candles, but I also found bath salts, sugar scrubs and lip balms among other fantastic products!

I was drawn to Hothouse Botanicals because of how they make their products. They are all made with pure natural essential oils - natural aromatherapy for the user! There are no synthetic fragrance or color, which it so important when following a biomedical protocol. While I'm not vegan myself, I am starting to really appreciate some of the pricipals set forth by a vegan lifestyle so I'm happy to use a company that is cruelty-free and vegan friendly. And I love, love, love the fact that they use recycled glass containers for their soy candles.

Stephanie, the President of Hothouse Botanicals, was nice enough to send me one of their Bourbon Geranium Aromatherapy Soy Candles and their Lavandin/Litsea Cubeba Bath Salts. I burned the candle as soon as I got it. It has a soft rosy-minty scent that is perfect for the spring and summer. I could really see using it during an evening dinner party on your patio, the candle and the fireflies providing just the right lighting while your guests enjoy a glass of chilled white wine. It would set the mood quite nicely. But I have been enjoying it daily since it has arrived, right in the kitchen and family room area. With two little boys, summer dinner parties are just a fantasy of mine.

I guess that is where the Lavandin/Litsea Cubeba Bath Salts come in. It has a delicate lavender lemon aroma that could help calm and sooth. I used it with the boys in their nighttime bath. Normally we use an Epsom salt bath to help detoxification but that isn't the most relaxing for the boys. I was thrilled when I read " A salt water bath can stimulate circulation, increase moisture retention, hydrate skin, detoxify the skin and promote cellular regeneration." The boys slept beautifully. Now I want to try it myself so I can detox and relax too.
